Doctor promises patients better orgasms with $1200 blood injection into clitoris
Dr Charles Runels has earned the title of ‘Dr. O’ among his patients after his bizarre medical treatment reportedly helped thousands of women have more pleasurable sex lives. He charges $1200 a shot for injecting a woman’s own blood into the clitoris to increase sensitivity. Dr Runels, who runs an ordinary clinic in the town of Fairhope in Alabama, even goes on to claim that he discovered the treatment after injecting blood into his own penis for a year, reports the Guardian.
The first time he tried the procedure on a woman was when his girlfriend asked him to inject blood into her clitoris as a Valentine’s Day gift after she observed him doing the same thing on his organ for about a year. The experiment was such a success that he decided to offer the treatment to his patients. Dr Runels says that he was able to treat more than 20,000 people in the last seven years and even has an 85 per cent success rate.
His technique involves drawing blood from a patient’s arm and using a centrifuge to separate the platelets into platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This blood is then put into a syringe and inserted into the patient’s clitoris. The whole procedure lasts for about 20 minutes.
Although Dr Runels got this type of treatment patented in 2011, it has still not been approved by the FDA. However, this does not seem to be a matter of serious concern among people who swear by its benefits. A study conducted by the American Medical Association found that more than 50 million women have difficulties in achieving an orgasm.
