Children as young as 10 addicted to porn indicates public health crisis

Porn addiction is a much talked about subject in recent times and it was highlighted in India with a woman approaching the apex court over her husband being obsessed with online pornography.

The easy accessibility to porn on the internet has led to an alarming rise in young men with erectile dysfunction and a recent case shocked everyone with a 11-year-old admitting to sexually assaulting other kids after watching porn.

30 percent of the internet is porn and 80 percent of it includes degrading, violent, and humiliating sexual acts which can leave a negative impact on anyone’s mind. With children as old as 11 being able to access porn with smartphone, laptops or tablets, there is a terrifying possibility that kids might already be addicted to porn.

Experts are describing children addicted to porn as a new public health crisis with a counselor saying that the youngest porn addict she has encountered is just 10-years-old. She says that they accidentally stumble upon it and it’s arousing after a dopamine release, and this pulls them back.

Another counselor says that it’s highly addictive with all the shock, surprise, violence and arousal leaving children confused, as porn addiction is being called the number one health concern of the digital age.

The news comes as a shocker when governments globally are trying to ensure that children are protected from porn on the internet.
