People across the globe are gearing up for Valentine’s Day with many planning a special time with their significant other and some preparing a proposal. Luxury brands, restaurants and fast food chains are also doing their bit by coming up with offers and products specifically for V-day.

While grabbing a cup of coffee at Starbucks with someone special may sound like a good idea, it may not be great for the romantic day you are planning. The Valentine’s Day special cherry mocha introduced by the café seems to contain ingredients that may take a toll on people’s sex drive.

The drink may taste good but the sugar, dairy and caffeine can bring down testosterone levels or increase anxiety levels which are known to reduce libido. A nutritionist told The Daily Mail that unless organic products are used, the cream made from cow’s milk may contain added hormones.

These additional hormones in the body can affect testosterone and estrogen which are responsible for regulating sex drive. She also added that one cup of cherry mocha will give people a sugar high followed by a crash and this low energy may cause a person to lose interest.

The amount of fat in candied cherry syrup, cream and mocha sauce can negatively affect performance in bed by hampering blood flow. Even though research suggests coffee increases sex drive, it may do the exact opposite in case of people who are sensitive to caffeine.
