UK has its first gay Muslim marriage

Jahed Choudhury from West Midlands becomes first Muslim to wed in a same sex marriage.

Jahed Choudhury had always grown up feeling ostracised by his community because he was gay and was even sent on a religious pilgrimage with the hopes of changing his sexual orientation.

Two years ago, follwing years of bullying he almost took his life, until he was spotted crying on a twon bench by Sean Rogan.

What began as a conversation soon blossomed into a relationship which now has turned into marriage for the young duo.

However, despite their happiness, both of them have received several death threats for their orientation and decision to marry.

Choudhury tied the knot in traditional Muslim attire at a low-key ceremony at Walsall.

In what is seen as a cultural taboo for many traditional Muslims, Choudhury is one of only a few openly-gay Muslim men and the first in the UK to marry another man.

Growing up with Bangladeshi parents and three siblings in a traditional Muslim household, Choudhury recalls being the 'black sheep' of the family.

But now he is now looking forward to a happy life with Rogan.
