Shaadi ke study effects

They said I do' and then decided to study further, in a trend that many couples are following to add to their skillset.

Many young couples are no longer waiting to complete their studies to tie the knot. Ring or no ring on their fingers, these couples like to stick it out with each other and lend complete support to finish a course of their choice and learn more. We find out from couples who’re going to study across the world and honing their skills even after saying “I do”.

Mihika and Rahul Chaudhury who got married had a plan. Rahul, a management consultant and Mihika, a product designer decided not to have children, early in life, and instead signed up to study further.

Mihika reveals, “We decided to give our working lives a break. I wanted to do masters from Cambridge, and Rahul also wanted to pursue a more specialised management course, so we decided to sell our belongings and give ourselves some leverage for study time. I’m leaving in a few months and Rahul will follow as soon as his term starts. I’m sure it will be a whole new life as students. We’ve always wanted to study in one of the IVY leagues and learn more. Since we don’t want children. Our careers are everything to us, and we want to increase our bandwidth with new courses. We also like to travel, experience the world, so this makes complete sense to us. We have some money saved up to keep us going for sometime.”

Meghna and Nitish Manocha decided to get married and move to the US immediately after. An MBBS graduate Meghna went on to do her masters in pediatrics from the Lousiana State University Health Science Centre in Shreveport.

Now, back in Bengaluru, Meghna shares her story saying, “Since both my partner and I were prepared, and we had planned for it, we didn’t find it tough to continue our studies even after tying the knot. It was smooth sailing, and it was easy to manage both studies and home living in the US. I’m glad that I took the step as it has made me a competent pediatrician today.”

Someone who found it extremely exciting to go back to studying after getting hitched is city-based Ankita Joshi. She says, “I decided to do a graphic designing course alongside being an image consultant. I picked a place which is very close to my house so I save my travel time in the city and use that precious time to study. My husband Chetan is supportive. Although there are challenges, since I have to take care of my house, cooking and my other duties as well, but there’s a certain drive to study that keeps me motivated.”
