A lot of people in today’s world across age groups are trying to make their sex life better as the access to online dating has increases prospects of having intercourse at a higher frequency. But it’s not that simple for everyone, as some people can have rare physical issues which can make life completely different for them.

While mental issues, anxiety and erectile problems can get in the way of men and women opening up to sexual initiation, a woman in the US suffered from a rare condition called Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome, because of which she was born without a vagina.

Devan Merck discovered her condition at the age of 12, when she saw that she had a malformed uterus, no cervix and had no vaginal canal. She was the bullied in school for the same, as boyfriends left her due to her problem which prevented her from having sex.

It was when she met her husband Trent, that Devan found hope and went ahead with treatment for the disorder which affects one in 5000 women.

Although Devan had undergone surgery to create a vaginal opening in order to allow Devan to have sex, she was shamed by her then boyfriend who said she felt different due to her artificial vagina.

The vagina was created by cutting open the skin that covered her vaginal opening, and putting skin from her bottom.

Devan and her husband Trent have now found out that she has both her ovaries functioning and are looking forward to having children as well through surrogacy. The possibility of motherhood comes as a ray of hope for Devan after the life she has had to live due to her condition.
