Run, Mingle, Maybe Fall in Love: Tel Aviv’s Singles Run Is Back

The concept has already proved a hit, with around 8,000 runners expected at the 2025 edition. And for those who prefer conversation to cardio, the post-run festivities are open to non-runners too.

What if your next great love story began not over coffee, but somewhere between kilometre three and the finish line?

Welcome to Tel Aviv’s Singles Run – where running shoes, dating and a healthy dose of Israeli spontaneity come together for one wonderfully unconventional event. Returning to Tel Aviv on 10 September 2026, the event turns the traditional city run on its head, inviting singles to run, mingle and perhaps even find a match along the way.

And because this is Tel Aviv, simply running from Point A to Point B would clearly be far too ordinary.

The Singles Run is less a race and more a giant social playground. The 2025 edition featured 5 km and 10 km routes, followed by a lively festival atmosphere with dating zones, entertainment, music and even unconventional ways to meet fellow singles. There were speed-dating sessions, a dedicated bus-meetup area and an “extreme date” zone – because apparently, a swipe right just wasn't adventurous enough.

Because in Israel, even dating comes with an adventure

The Singles Run is a particularly Tel Avivian idea: energetic, social, slightly cheeky and completely comfortable with doing things differently. In fact, previous editions have taken the quirky factor even further. One dating zone invited participants to meet in the dark, using night-vision equipment to get to know each other without actually seeing one another. Talk about taking “don’t judge a book by its cover” literally!

But perhaps that is the real charm of events like this. They capture something that makes Israel such an intriguing destination for travellers: the ability to turn an ordinary activity into an experience.

A run becomes a dating festival. A night out becomes an outdoor cultural celebration. A visit to the beach can turn into a sunset party. And a city break can quickly become a collection of stories you never expected to tell.

The quirky side of Israel

For travellers looking beyond the usual sightseeing checklist, Israel offers plenty of opportunities to embrace the unexpected. From Tel Aviv's famously energetic nightlife and creative culture to unusual festivals, immersive experiences, outdoor adventures and food events, there is always another reason to get out and join in.

And that is what makes the Singles Run more than just a fun event for single travellers. It is a snapshot of Israel's playful side – spontaneous, social and unafraid to mix things up.

So, whether you're looking for love, simply looking for a memorable evening, or just want to witness thousands of people attempting to flirt while running 5 km, Tel Aviv has you covered.

After all, in a city where even a running race can double as a dating festival, you never quite know where the next adventure – or connection – might come from.
