Telangana: Deer crossing road hit by vehicle, dies
Hyderabad: Two days after a deer was found dead at the University of Hyderabad campus, a deer was hit by a vehicle while crossing the road near Ananthagiri reserve forest on Tuesday. Telangana forest authorities took away the carcass for post mortem.
The deer was an adult female. Forest authorities confirm that it was a hit-run accident because the stretch of road here passes through an area of the forest area which is prone to accidents.
Meanwhile, no arrest has been made for the killing of another deer on the campus of University of Hyderabad. The carcass was found two days back. An officer from the forest department had conducted a preliminary investigation and held a meeting on Monday.
Dr. S. Kukrety, Chief Conservative of Forest (CCF), said, “It seems the university campus is tresspassed by poachers and stray dogs that cause death of deer and other wildlife.
