Kochi: Cochin Natural History Society (CNHS) in collaboration with the Kerala forest department and College of Forestry, Kerala Agriculture University, will hold a bird survey in the Malayattoor forest division in July and September. The survey will cover all habitats across the fivision. This is a follow-up of the survey held in March 2011 by CNHS.

The results will be compared with the earlier survey results and available birds’ occurrence data and an analysis will help formulate conservation plans. The second phase of the survey scheduled in September will cover 34 locations taking the total to 64 in the two phases. The dates of September survey will be decided later.
