Kerala: Fever-monitoring cells in all district
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has decided to set up 24/7 monitoring cells in all districts from Tuesday to coordinate viral fever control, prevention and treatment activities besides creating awareness among the people about the do’s and don’ts related to fever. Health Minter K.K. Shylaja said the monitoring cells would coordinate directly with the health officials on the ground and provide immediate relief to the people. A special mechanism is being set up at the health minister’s office here to coordinate the activities of the district-level monitoring cells.
All complaints and suggestions of the public pertaining to public health activities, availability of medicines in hospitals, patient care, level of sanitation and cleanliness in hospital premises could be conveyed to the monitoring cells. At the state level, the information can be given to toll-free number 1056 and 0471-2552056. Exclusive phone numbers have been provided in each district for the purpose. The complaints received at these monitoring cells would be directed to nodal officers in each panchayat.
After taking action on the complaints of the public, the nodal officer will report the same to the district and state-level officers concerned. The action taken report will be submitted to the health minister’s office on a daily basis and evaluated by the minster.
