Dying from tumour, dog survives enough to attend owner's wedding

Kelly met Charlie at an animal shelter when he was just 12-weeks-old.

People across the world love their pets and with times pets become an integral part of our lives as we spend most of our time with them and they are always there to help out when we feel lonely.

From sharing pictures together, talking about life’s problems to going out for walks; pets are one of the best companions for people who don’t ask for anything more than affection in return. This is why their absence can leave a void in a person’s life.

While recently a woman in India refused to marry a guy who had a problem with her dog, a touching tale of a dying dog living just long enough to attend his owner’s wedding is taking over the internet.

The woman called Kelly O’ Connell met the dog named Charlie in an animal shelter when he was just 12 weeks old and she was 19-years-old. The two were together in their journey from New York to Colorado over the years, and Charlie also moved in with Kelly and her now husband Garvin when they met.

Things changed when Charlie has a seizure in April 2015 and had to be diagnosed with brain tumour, as his seizures increased weeks before Kelly’s wedding. This is when veterinarians Kelly and Garvin decided to end his suffering by putting him to sleep.
