4 stray dogs protect baby girl after discovering her in a dumpster
West Bengal: Stray dogs have been a growing concern in India since several incidents of people being attacked by dogs and being badly injured have been reported along with a backlash by people who thought mass killings of dogs might be a good idea.
But an incident from West Bengal seems to provide another perspective on stray dogs as four dogs saved the life of a baby girl who had been left in a dumpster in Purulia.
Left clueless after finding the child in the dumpster, the four canines sat there protecting the infant from crows and waited for help to come until a schoolteacher heard the baby crying and alerted others.
The locals rushed to the spot and picked up the baby as they gave her milk before taking her to the nearest hospital for a check up. Doctors said that the 10 day old baby has jaundice but there’s nothing to fear.
It has been reported that the child will be handed over to a local state run home-cum-adoption centre.
While stray dogs are being targeted ruthlessly as a menace, they saved a life which had been abandoned by human beings.
