Chennai: German national Steffan Kaggrah and his wife have started a WhatsApp campaign to trace their dog Luke, which was allegedly stolen during their visit to Marina beach on Saturday evening.

"On Saturday at around 4 pm our dog Luke was taken away from our car. He was tied up outside the car and we were inside. The dog was taken away in an auto rickshaw from Marina beach,’ said the message, which is being circulated in the WhatsApp groups.

When contacted, engineer Steffan (27) said he and his wife were travelling with Luke in India as tourists. "We were scheduled to go to Sri Lanka on July 17 and we will come back to India again," he said.

Currently staying in a hotel in the city, the couple, in their message, said they are ready to reward any information that can lead to their dog. The couple has also lodged a complaint with Marina police station.
