Meet the cat with eyes so huge, he can't shut them even while sleeping

If you ever wondered how the word ‘scaredy-cat’ came into existence then this feline will probably quell your curiosity. Herman, an Exotic Shorthair, was born with eyes so large that his face wears a perpetually petrified expression. In fact, the four-month-old kitten cannot even close his eyelids fully when he’s asleep.

Herman lives in Copenhagen with his owner Shirley who completely dotes on him. She says that she has to rely on his snores to be sure if he’s napping or not. She regularly posts his photos on an Instagram page which now has a whopping 4,000 followers. The cute kitten has even been given the nickname ‘Hermie’ by his fans.

Even though there are cats that have been born with very large eyes and are diagnosed with spontaneous lens luxation later in life, this does not seem to be the matter in Herman’s case. Vets have assured that he is not suffering from any health issues and is completely normal.
