First mist of season hits Hyderabad

An official from the local weather said that when the humidity is around 50 per cent, it is called haze.

Hyderabad: Hakimpet, Rajendranagar, Icrisat and the Hussainsagar area experienced mist early on Thursday morning. An official from the local weather said that when the humidity is around 50 per cent, it is called haze. When it goes beyond 55 per cent, mist occurs.

“When the moisture in the air crosses the 90-per cent mark, it is called fog,” he said. This did not happen in the city, and is seen in the north where it is so severe that aircraft and train movements are suspended.

Officials say the city would see a drop in minimum temperatures by the month end, instead of in December as is the norm. Officials said the minimum temperature may drop to 10º Centrigrade.

“Anything between 11ºC and 13ºC for Hyderabad is normal during winter,” he said. The normal minimum temperature for Novem-ber is 19ºC, and it is in the normal range for the city.
