A feast for the eyes

The Cochin Flower Show organised by the Agri-Horticultural Society displays more than 50,000 flowers in 50 categories.

The Cochin Flower Show currently on at the Ernakulathappan Ground is drawing crowds for its variety. Organised by Agri-Horticultural Society, more than 50,000 flowers in 50 categories are displayed at the venue. One could find many varieties of rose, orchid, adenium, poinsettia, petunia, dalia, gerbera and salvias at venue. Other exhibits include bonsai plants, herbal plants, pitcher plant, imported portia flowers, cut flower and star plants. However, the centre of attraction is the dry flower decoration featuring characters of Jungle Book.

Besides the exhibition of flowers, the venue has agriculture department’s agri clinic. Those who want to create garden at home can interact with experts at the venue. There is also competition in flower garden and kitchen garden categories for government, semi-government institutions and individuals. The show is open till January 7 from 9 am to 9 pm.
