This August, Burma Burma invites you to a one-of-a-kind peek into Burma’s tea shops, where these beloved breads are shared over long conversations and endless cups of tea.

Whether it's a chaotic group catch-up, a rainy day at home when you just want to order in, or one of those rare days that only carbs can fix, this offering needs no excuse or occasion-just an appetite for a passport-free escape to an all-new destination. Featuring three unique Paukse (steamed buns), four lip-smacking Palata (flatbreads) with curries, delicious desserts, and of course, traditional Burmese pulled teas and house-made sodas, this limited-edition menu, available from August 1 to 31, is your chance to experience the spirit of Burma’s tea shops. In Burma, tea shops are far more than places to stop for a cup of tea. They are lively neighbourhood institutions woven into the rhythm of everyday life.

Long before cafés became places to work or meet, these bustling spaces brought people together over endless cups of tea and addictive bites. They were where strangers became regulars, conversations flowed freely, different ideas met at the same table, and everyday life unfolded over shared meals. Inspired by the culinary team's continued travels through Burma’s tea shops and street-side stalls, the menu celebrates two of the country’s most-loved indigenous breads while offering a delicious window into Burma’s rich culinary heritage.

Limited-Edition Offering PaukSe & Palata - Windows To Burma For generations, indigenous breads like PaukSe (steamed buns) and Palata (flaky flatbreads) have been woven into the fabric of everyday Burmese life. Served from morning till night in tea shops across the country, these humble breads have long been the perfect companions to rich curries, comforting fillings and endless rounds of tea. Eating is never hurried here. Instead, it is an experience built around togetherness, where another round of food, tea or both is always welcome. Palata bears the imprint of South India's enduring influence on Burmese cuisine, its flaky, buttery layers unfolding with every bite.

PaukSe, on the other hand, reflects Burma's East Asian connections. Soft and pillowy, they are filled with an array of savoury and sweet fillings. Together, they tell the story of Burma's teahouses: vibrant community spaces where cultures, traditions and flavours came together at the same table. Drawing from these traditions, Burma Burma reimagines these beloved tea shop classics through a modern lens. Begin with the delicate Tofu & Scallion Twist, gently seasoned with fragrant Burmese spices. If you’re in a playful mood, the PaukSe Burger pairs a crisp corn patty with a soft steamed bun topped with poppy seeds, bringing together familiar comfort and distinctive Burmese flavours. Enjoy the Spicy Curry Buns for those times when you’re craving a hearty, indulgent bite.

Love a good, crispy bread? The Palata selection celebrates Burma's iconic flaky flatbread in all its comforting glory. The Tea Break Palata arrives generously topped with lentil curry, brown onions, mint and green chillies, just as it is served in Yangon’s tea shops. Alongside it are comforting favourites including the Sunday Curry Palata and the OG Burmese Taco, layered with richly seasoned plant-based mince. Bringing a contemporary twist to a tea shop staple, the Palata Sando sandwiches an edamame and water chestnut patty between crisp, flaky layers of Palata, marrying tradition with modern comfort.

No tea shop visit feels complete without something sweet. The Tea Shop Cream Puff layers crisp pastry with malai cream, served with Thai tea mascarpone for a delicate finish, while the Nutty Banana Sundae features hazelnut spread, condensed milk and banana atop flaky, pulled Palata, offering a comforting take on one of Burma's favourite indulgences.

Bringing the experience together are our Burmese Pulled Teas and house-made Cola. Want to sip on something warm, comforting and luxurious? Try our Pistachio & Saffron Pulled Tea or Cinnamon Spice Pulled Tea, with the warm flavours of cinnamon and star anise. For a chilled sip, try the Sea Salt Honeycomb, which comes topped with lemon mousse and honeycomb, or the Jasmine Rice & Brown Sugar, served with brown sugar jelly and soft cheese foam. The spread completes with our in-house cola creations, BB House Cola, which comes with a kick of tamarind.

Whether gathering friends over a leisurely lunch, seeking comfort on a rainy evening or ordering in for a cosy meal at home, PaukSe & Palata: Windows to Burma offers more than a seasonal menu. It is a glimpse into one of Burma's most cherished everyday traditions, where food, tea and conversation come together to create moments worth lingering over.

Available from August 1 to 31, 2026, the limited-edition offering will be served for lunch and dinner across all Burma Burma restaurants in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Hyderabad. It is also available for home delivery via Swiggy and Zomato, making it easier than ever to bring the warmth of Burma's tea shops home.
