Blending Folk Tradition with Festive Radiance

Known as ‘Garbo of Lights’, this year’s Christmas Tree is a towering 25 feet installation, built in a Vibrant Garba-inspired form.

Ahmedabad : Continuing its tradition of reimagining festivities with elements of local heritage, ITC Narmada, a Luxury Collection hotel in Ahmedabad, has unveiled its 2025 Christmas Tree installation. Known as ‘Garbo of Lights’, this year’s Christmas Tree is a towering 25 feet installation, built in a Vibrant Garba-inspired form.

Crafted with 500 colourful dandiyas and illuminated by 200 twinkling lights, this 250-kg installation transforms tradition into art. Each dandiya and light is thoughtfully placed to create a radiant tapestry of colour, glow and rhythmic movement — echoing the spirited energy of Garba and the cultural heartbeat of Gujarat. ‘Garbo of Lights’ beautifully blends the warmth of heritage with the sparkle of contemporary festivity, celebrating Gujarat’s timeless soul in a truly unique Christmas expression.
Year after year, ITC Narmada makes its humble attempts to use Gujarat’s beloved traditional symbols to construct its spectacular festive centrepiece on Christmas. By bringing the ‘Garbo of Lights’ motif into a contemporary festive context, the tree bridges the warmth of tradition with the sparkle of modern celebration. The installation is a tribute to Gujarat’s cultural soul, much like ITC Narmada’s own stepwell-inspired architecture that draws its inspiration from Gujarat’s design heritage.
