Teen dies of brain tumour; donates organs to save 15 other lives
A 13-year-old girl who lost her battle with brain tumour decided to donate her organs and tissue before she passed away, the Daily Mail reported.
Her grand gesture will help transform the lives of 15 people.
Just six weeks after being diagnosed with an aggressive disease called glioblastoma, the young girl named Charlotte Mitchell died.
Her mother Karen, urges other parents to start having discussions with their children about donating organs at an early age.
This could help save more lives in England, where donors have to 'opt in' before they die.
"We don't know why it has taken so long that you still have to opt in, the law needs to change quicker, " Karen is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
Adding, "Without a doubt it has given us solace knowing how many people her organs might help. It's one of the only things that keeps me going."
