UK: Parents warn confused kids are being 'rushed into sex changes'
Parents claim dangerous new codes of practice by UK's National Health Service (NHS) is putting confused children on the fast-track to having sex changes, reported The Sun.
Due to an agreement signed by various groups including the Royal College of GPs, therapists have been reportedly banned from attempting to convince children they were born the right gender.
A 15-year-old who told teachers she was “stuck in the wrong body” was referred to the NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. There the therapist diagnosed her with depression after just one session and was sent to a gender identity clinic.
Her mother upset, feels she was groomed by a gay individual. "I’ve known my child 15 years and he only saw her for 40 minutes yet thinks he knows everything about her and is blindly accepting she wants to be a boy," she is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. Despite her mother's objections, the now 17-year-old girl is placed on testosterone.
Another woman claims therapists refused to believe her child 13 was suffering from anxiety and was instead encouraged to refer to their daughter as "he". They decided to seek help from a private psychologist. The child has since changed her mind about wanting to be a boy.
Parents are also worried popular people on social media are brainwashing kids into having a sex change.
