Nutrify India Now' app launched

It is India's first comprehensive nutrition related mobile app.

Hyderabad: To improve food habits of Indians especially the younger generation, the National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) has launched the application “Nutrify India Now.” It is India’s first comprehensive nutrition related mobile app with names of food items in 17 Indian languages. The app is developed to act as a nutri-guide that would help users assess the nutrients that food stuffs contain. It also helps the users keep track of the energy balance.

The app provides a comprehensive nutritional information on Indian foods, common Indian recipes including calories, proteins, vitamins and minerals. The app is in line with the National Nutrition Mission of the Centre and was launched on the occasion of the inaugural ceremony of the centenary celebrations of the institute.

The app is available for both Android and Apple phones and can be downloaded on playstore or app store. It contains BMI and BMR calculators. It has a recommed dietary allowance which can be picked based on gender and kind of work. It provides raw food values, and has an option to search using names in local languages. by providing a food and the term used in spoke language. A user can also check the raw value of a recipe for a given quantity.
