Apart from being a nuisance mosquitoes are also known to carry several diseases which can also be fatal. People in different parts of the world try various measures to resist these pests but there hasn’t been any lasting solution.

Now Google has come out with its own plan which hopes to rid the world of this issue once and for all. The firm is releasing millions of engineered Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes in Fresno after infecting them with bacteria that may kill the mosquito population in the region.

With 15 million mosquitoes released and the female population cut by two thirds in six months, the project seems to be a success so far.
