Same-sex couple who carried the same baby describe it as a priceless experience

The embryo was placed in Bliss' vagina for the first five days as it acted like an incubator before being removed and placed in Ashleigh.

Parenthood is a special experience for several couples across the globe although some have been deprived of it due to certain limitations. But breakthroughs in the field of medicine are promising to make it possible for everyone including same-sex couples to have a child.

A same-sex couple may have made history as they both shared the experience of carrying the same baby. Ashleigh and Bliss Coulter underwent reciprocal IVF as eggs taken from Bliss were fertilised with a donor sperm in a lab.

The embryo was placed in Bliss’ vagina for the first five days as it acted like an incubator before being removed and placed in Ashleigh. Nine months later she gave birth to their healthy son named Stetson.

The couple who got married in 2015 had met six years back and both of them wanted to have children. While Bliss wanted a baby that was biologically her, she didn’t want to get pregnant.

Thanks to the procedure of reciprocal IVF, both were able to get involved in bringing their son to this world.
