Singapore: People across the national capital and other parts of India have been trying everything from including long sleeve dresses in their wardrobe to using mosquito repellent, in order to survive a chikungunya and dengue outbreak.
While keeping mosquitoes at bay has been an age old issue mankind has had to deal with, it seems a Singapore based firm has come up with a way to prevent vector borne diseases while also staying in style.
A jewellery brand has come up with designs which keeps mosquitoes away with bracelets and necklaces that have citronella balls. Citronella is a non-toxic oil which is essential in mosquito repellents.
The compound, which is effective against mosquitoes spreading dengue, can be refilled in the balls and used for seven days. The price ranges from Rs 2346 to Rs 3177 and the refill comes at Rs 240.
The designer range meant to combine style with wellness has the balls accompanied by Burmese jade and beads for increasing the style factor.
