Teenager's gallbladder removed after eating 4 bags of spicy chips every week

The doctor said that these foods are high in saturated fats, trans fats and sodium which are associated with gall stones.

Having packaged food including chips may not seem like a big deal but not being careful with it can be disastrous. While these products are not known for being good for health, going overboard can do much more than we can imagine.

A 17-year-old didn’t really think of consequences when she consumed four large bags of spicy chips every week. It was only when the teenager began experiencing sharp abdominal pain; that a doctor revealed that the snacks were causing gastrointestinal issues.

The situation got so bad that the girl had to undergo surgery for removing her gallbladder. The symptoms of gallbladder inflammation may not arise for years in many cases while they come up suddenly for some.

The doctor said that these foods are high in saturated fats, trans fats and sodium which are associated with gall stones. He has also seen children who are much younger having issues with gallbladder.

The reason may be childhood obesity and higher consumption of saturated fats as well as processed foods.
