Hina Patel, celebrity make-up artiste and instructor at MUD (Make-Up Designory) was in the city for a House of Bazaar workshop. She is virtually an artiste for whom makeup is a passion more than profession.
“I believe the world is made of colours and being an artist I get to play with them every day. Therefore, from painting papers to now doing makeup is what I enjoy the most as an artist. I put my simplicity and love in my work, which makes it different”, Hina shares while expressing her career goals. She is influenced most by Path MacGraths’s artistry and style.
What is the one beauty tip you think all women should swear by?
As a makeup artiste, I feel every person is different in skin tone and shades. We all are beautiful in our own ways. Accept your beauty status and try to believe in yourself first by accepting your skin shade, also try to enhance your skin but do not change.
How would you describe your personal style and aesthetic?
My personal style statement would be — just be comfortable! Even when I try new styles or trends on myself, I make sure that I am always comfortable. I also believe that clothes give you self-power, while make-up gives confidence.
As it is the city of hot and dry weather throughout the year, what kind of precautions should the women especially take to maintain their skin glow, and fitness?
Whether it is hot, dry, windy or cold weather, make sure you always keep your skin hydrated by drinking lots of water. I suggest women (of any skin-type) to strictly follow a skin care regime to maintain their skin and do not forget to use SPF sunscreen to protect skin from tanning in this extremely hot and dry weather. Consulting a dermatologist would also be a good option.
Mention the ideal diet for an appropriate stylish figure for both men and women.
Never take your skin for granted; especially your face, make sure you always follow a proper diet. Eat a lot of green veggies as they keep your skin clean and acne free. To have a younger looking skin, men and women should also take Vitamin C and anti-oxidants sufficiently. An important rule that everyone should follow is to drink one glass of warm water, the first activity in the morning, as it cleanses stomach and gives an instant hydration to the body.
Would you like to advise anything to the budding makeup artists?
First, you need to choose what kind of makeup artist you want to become, explore your area of strength. If you like to teach, then learn more on technical ways where you can explain well. If you want to become media makeup artiste, then learn how to achieve the natural makeup. If you like to do bridal, then learn about how your clients like their makeup such as bold or natural and then comes you social media. Kill it with your posts.
What are your other interests? how do you unwind?
I would love to travel and meet people across the globe. I feel the more I know about people and their life, the more I explore myself and I would change but for better. Give it up! World needs love and care.
