You sleep for a good eight hours, but you wake up feeling exhausted and feel like you need more rest.

There can be a number of reasons you maybe feeling this way from medical to psychological.

Medical reasons:

* Coeliac disease: Consuming gluten may make you feel sluggish.
* Anaemia: This is one of the most common medical reasons for feeling tired. 1 in 20 people are reportedly iron deficient.
* Chronic fatigue syndrome: This illness can be long-term and set off sleep issues and exhaustion.
* Diabetes: Too much sugar in the blood can make one feel tired.
* Underactive thyroid: Exhaustion could be caused when the body lacks thyroid hormone.
* Glandular fever: Patients diagnosed with glandular fever could be left feeling fatigue for many months.
* Sleep apnea: Feel restless and this condition can cause you breathing problems at night.
* Restless legs syndrome: Also known as Willis-Ekbom disease cause one to have an obsessive need to move the legs. Feeling overwhelmed can make it difficult to shut down.

Psychological causes

* Anxiety: Constantly feeling worried can be very draining and can prevent you from sleeping.
* Depression: Can cause extreme tiredness and make you feel numb to energy.

Lifestyle causes

* Alcohol consumption: Drinking regularly can disrupt your sleep.
* Unusual routine: Working odd hours or not having a proper daily structure can contribute to feeling exhausted.

Tips to get your energy back:

* Eat regularly
* Exercise to boost circulation
* Loose some of the weight if you are overweight to not feel so sluggish
* Make time to sleep
* Relax and reduce your stress
* Lower your caffeine intake
* Consume less alcohol
* Stay hydrated with lots of water
