Emotional troubles can cause problems with body movements: study

It found that anxiety can take a toll on parts of the brain controlling movements.

The kind of lifestyle in today’s world can subject people to a lot of stress and many are left vulnerable to emotional troubles due to turbulent lives. But while emotional stress can be gruelling for the psyche, it can also have adverse effects on the body.

A study has come out with an explanation for the way many of us freeze when we face an emotional crisis, and it mentions that the reason could be anxiety affecting parts of the brain that control body movements.

The research also provides answers about several other motor inhibitions that come with trouble with emotions, and was conducted on children between ages of eight to nine. Children exposed to social inhibitions were found to have difficulty identifying emotions.

When these children were again tested at ages of 15 and 16, it indicated that emotional stress was causing inhibition to areas that control motor skills.
