Child suffering from rare werewolf syndrome has left mother heart-broken

Pune, Maharashtra: Birth defects have been reported from across the globe and while some include children looking like old men or resembling trees, some involve kids having skin conditions making them look like snakes.

One condition which has been reported in the past is that of babies that inherit a rare gene which makes them look like werewolves and this is the condition of a five month old child from Pune, which has left his mother heartbroken.

The condition is a genetic one which the child has inherited from the 22-year-old mother Manisha Sambhaji Raut and her two sisters, as she is worried how her child will cope with the ordeal she went through.

She told Mirror that, “My sisters and I were always teased and often nicknamed ghost, bear and monkey. To know my son will also go through the pain and suffering I went through breaks my heart.”

The condition does not have a cure and Manisha as well as her sisters have been using hair removal cream every few days for their entire life.

Manisha said that her husband is supportive but the same isn’t the case with her mother-in-law who “Keeps moaning that he is not good or a beautiful baby. She says he is ugly and looks like a monkey. I feel angry and hurt but there is nothing I can do.”
