Hyderabad: After sehri, small walk will do you good
Hyderabad: Sleeping immediately after dinner is also one of the major reasons for increasing cases of indigestion and heartburn during Ramzan.
With the time constraints and also the need to get up for sehri by 2.30 to 3 am, many people immediately go to sleep after dinner.
Senior general physician Dr B.N. Reddy said, “Sleeping within half an hour after dinner does not allow the body to digest the food properly. Many burp in the morning and face heartburn issues as they do not maintain the gap between eating and sleeping.”
Experts advise walking for 15 minutes after dinner to solve the problem. Dr M. Afroze, senior general physician, said, “It is very important to keep a gap of at least one hour before going to sleep. During this time people must not sit on the sofa and wait for the hour to pass. They must indulge in some physical activity at home or outside. When this does not happen, it merely aggravates the problems of indigestion and constipation.”
