Wild sex leaves man with fractured penis

A penile fracture occurs when an erect penis is bent during sexual intercourse which then ruptures the tissue inside the shaft.

A 32-year-old man had to rush to the hospital after he heard his penis ‘snap’ while passionately making love to his partner. The horrific injury had caused his penis to turn black and blue as well as swell up after the encounter.

The man, who has not been named, told doctors that he heard a “snapping sound” during a rough sex session and his penis changed in appearance. The irregular curvature of his phallus indicates that he suffered a penile fracture, according to BMJ Case Reports, a website that records medical case studies. His ultrasound scans showed that the intercourse had resulted in a tear in the man’s corpus spongiosum – the mass of spongy tissue that surrounds the male urethra, according to Mirror.uk.

A penile fracture occurs when an erect penis is bent during sexual intercourse which then ruptures the tissue inside the shaft. This tear causes blood to haemorrhage into the penis, resulting in the sex organ to have a severely bruised appearance. The BMJ advises those who suspect they have fractured their penis to seek medical attention immediately as the injury may require urgent surgical intervention.
