Diabetic used 'miracle' maggots on his feet to feast on his infected skin
A man suffering from diabetes attached 'miracle' maggots to his feet to feast on his infected skin, the Daily Mail reported.
64-year-old Michael Rogers had them on for an entire week so he could amputation.
Diabetic complication caused Rogers from Swansea, to loose his right leg in 2015.
80 per cent of his left heel was cut away last year due to poor blood flow and nerve problems. Thatc caused the tissue turned black and died.
"Left with a 14x10cm wound on the sole of his foot and desperate not to lose another leg, doctors recommended Mr Rogers put green-bottle maggots on the injury last April, the report revealed.
This helped shrink his wound to just 3x1cm within six months.
Eventhough he still in a wheelchair, Rogers is recovering slowly and hopes to soon use a prosthetic heel.
