1026 cases of fever reported in Kozhikode on Saturday
KOZHIKODE: As many as 1026 cases of viral fever have been reported on Saturday, according to the district medical office. Of this, 34 patients were admitted. 29 suspected and 28 confirmed cases of dengue, two cases of Hepatitis A and five H1N1 cases were also registered. As many as 83 ADD (Acute diarrhoeal disease) cases were also reported.
A confirmed case of leptospirosis was reported at Karuvachery. A total 34,044 patients visited the outpatient wing of various health institutions on Saturday. Dengue was reported from Iruvallur-5 cases, Beypore-2, Kuruvatoor-2, Atholy-2, Feroke-2, Balusserry, Koorachundu, Kakkayam, Kakkoor, Kolathur-2, Thuruvallur, Mukkam, Vellimadukunnu, Malaparambu and St Vincent Colony. Koorachundu has been the hot spot of dengue in the district.
The household visit and cleanliness drive by health squad have been continuing. Cleanliness drive was carried out in various wards and public spots as a part of preventing the fever spread. “Health squads had visited houses, government institutions, private hospitals, private institutions, construction sites, camps of other state labourers and plantations,” said district medical officer (DMO) Dr Ashadevi. NCC, NSS, Scouts and Guides students, ward counselors, volunteers were part of the work.
