Fathers always play a special role in the life of a child. Superhero, guide, friend or role model, a father stands by their children through all difficulties and helps them sail through.

Celebrity Sonali Bendre revisited her childhood memories of her father, and shared her views on how she and her family is celebrating Father’s Day.

 

Reminiscing on how she celebrates Father’s Day and the special spot her father holds in her heart, actor Sonali Bendre Behl said, “Father’s Day reminds me of all the fond memories I shared with my father. Though my mother is my true inspiration, my father has always been my superhero.”

She further added, “There are a lot of childhood memories that make me nostalgic and one of them is taking my daily evening walks with my father. Being a fitness enthusiast himself, he always taught us to eat right and stay healthy. I still remember how I would consume a handful of soaked almonds daily since that was the tradition at home, which we followed religiously in order to stay healthy.”

 

Sonali ensures the same healthy living lifestyle is followed by her husband and son as well.

“My son is very close to his father. They are more like friends who love spending time bonding with each other. It is a special feeling seeing your husband evolve as a father,” she says, adding, “Father’s Day is all about making your father feel how much they mean to you and what better way than to prepare their favourite dish on that day! Since, we all like to eat healthy, we prepare a good, heavy breakfast filled with wholesome nutrition. We always ensure to include almonds in our morning glass of smoothie along with fresh fruits and berries. Along with the smoothie, a stash of oats pancakes and a bowl of fresh fruits are also be prepared.”
