DOT SHOT – Anti-hangover drink

This super drink was not only conceptualized by him but also saw his involvement in the research and the products formulation.

In an ideal world, alcohol consumption would happen over some stretched long weekends, in moderation, and you would still wake up fresh as a peach the next morning, raring to go for that satisfying morning swim.

We have all had days like these which come laced with alcohol -- leaving behind the prize of headache, nausea, and disorientation for us to open like a dreaded anthrax package the following morning.

DOT SHOT is first of its kind Vegan 'Super Drink' is the answer to letting life plays itself out while you show consideration and responsibility towards your wellbeing. This clinically validated, vegan, full of anti-oxidants drink is a shot of good health which replenishes and boosts the health of your liver.

In an exclusive interview with Viraj Patel, Director, DOT SHOT he talk about the changing trends in lifestyle and drinking habits and the expansion plan of the drink.

How did the idea germinate - DOT SHOT.

Alcohol consumption in India has increased by 38 per cent between 2010-2017. Therefore, we need to acknowledge the changing social fabric and address social-drinking and the problem that drinking brings, separately. Interestingly, today's generation and especially Gen Z, are a well-informed lot who are responsible of their health and uncompromising with their schedule- be it the following morning's routine, presentations, to-do list, hitting the gym or anything else. Wanting to experience life at full speed with all senses engaged, they will neither miss out on a friend’s mid-week birthday bash nor will they be willing to compromise an entire day owing to a hangover. As societies evolve, solutions must evolve too.

And Indian consumers have been ready for a while for a healthy, wholesome counter to the assaults of modern-day living. Hence in 2015, we started working on the concept of DOT SHOT. Finally, we launched in 2016 in Pune as a test market and then later took it to Mumbai and Goa. DOT SHOT is our attempt to deliver goodness with responsibility to India.

How is this drink different from the other anti-hangover products that are available in the Indian market?

Moderate drinking causes some amount of stress on the liver which tries to counteract the effect with its own defence mechanism. So when a person consumes alcohol the liver converts it into a toxin called acetaldehyde which is harmful to your health. DOT SHOT helps to reduce the level to this toxin in the blood and proves to be effective in battling a hangover.

Most importantly, DOT SHOT is not tested on animals and it is clinically proven by ICH guidelines to measure the impact, hence the results are more accurate. The drink is formulated with 'Curcumin', which is a concentrated extract of turmeric. The electrolytes in it help the body recuperate and balance the pH levels within the body, keeping muscles and nervous system running normally.
