The super-rich are paying to have their brains frozen in hopes of rebirth

They are spending as much as Rs 71 lakh in hopes of being resurrected in the next 200 years.

Advances in the field of medicine have made life easier for people suffering from diseases previously thought of as incurable. But while this has helped people live longer and healthier lives, can it make people immortal?

As part of what seems like a concept straight out of a science fiction movie, super rich people are having their brains frozen in hopes of being reborn. They are paying as much as Rs 71 lakh in hopes of being resurrected in the next 200 years.

Cryogenics involves deep freezing the body and is seen as a way to beat death. A businessman who opted for the process believes he will wake up centuries later to experience a new life in another body where his brain is placed.

But experts don’t think there is much hope of success as organs like the heart and kidneys haven’t been frozen and thawed yet. But advocates of the practice call it a miracle as they say bodies can be revived in the future when medical science has progressed enough to cure what killed them.
