Healthy heart key to a robust body
Hyderabad: In providing proper nutrition for the brain it is important that the overall body health is also considered, especially the heart. Often foods like coconut oil, egg yolk are not recommended for heart health. Hence, maintaining a proper balance in foods is important. Similarly, the oil content in nuts like walnuts can affect those who are suffering from heart problems.
Nutritionist Madhurima explained, “The key to maintaining balance lies in having a variety of foods and also limiting the intake. One type of food must not be taken in large quantities as it will have its effect. The point is to choose small portions from the large variety and also alternate the same.”
Take the case of canola oil which is found to reduce cholesterol levels and also reduce the risk of heart diseases. But a recent study by Forbes shows that the effect of canola oil on brain health is not so good. The study on mice has shown that they performed poorly in memory tests and large amounts of plague were found in the brain arteries upon dissection.
Hence there is a measuring carried out and foods that help the overall body functioning like green leafy vegetables, fruits, whole grains etc are best to recommend to the general population.
