KOZHIKODE: The City Janatha Karunyam Charitable Trust is offering between 15 to 51 per cent discount on medicines at their outlet in Eranhipalam. The clinic next to it will offer free checking from 11 am to 1 pm. The free clinic and the medical shop was inaugurated on Saturday by former chief minister Oommen Chandy. “The Janasevana Medicines and Surgicals aims at giving medicines for the needy and those who are authenticated by our trusted sources. Last month, through the trust, we provided medicines for all the inmates of West Hill old age home, for free. The shop will be open from 8am to 11pm,” said trust chairman K.V. Subrahmanian.
Mr Chandy said that politicians should come forward for charity works. He also hailed the trust that was formed in February this year, for its move to open such medicine outlets throughout the state. The Janasevana clinic, along with the shop offers free diagnosis with the support of two doctors - general physician Dr EK Joseph and pediatrician Dr C. Sreekumar.
