Nipah threat under control: K K Shailaja
KOZHIKODE: K.K Shailaja, Minister for Health and Social Welfare , in a press release said that the schools in the district will open on June 12 itself in the wake of controlling Nipah outbreak. The restrictions for public meetings and functions will also end on the same day. But there is no halt in observing the 2,649 people who were in contact with the Nipah victims.
"Both the teams who check the source of the virus and those who work for its control are doing a noteworthy job," said the Minister. Even though things are under control, we have recommended to the public to conduct required medical tests and other treatment on time in case found with any illness, the minister added.
The tests of the seven people who were hospitalised on previous days were found negative and thus 295 out of the 313 test reports have turned negative. The survivors will only leave the hospital after the complete observation of medical team.
