Watch: This is what a migraine attack actually looks like

Now a virtual reality program can enable non-migraine sufferers to experience the effects of a migraine first-hand.

Most people mistake a migraine to be a just a bad headache. However, they cannot be further away from the truth. Now a well-known painkiller brand has created a virtual reality program that enabled non-migraine sufferers to experience the effects of a migraine first-hand.

Often migraines involve a variety of symptoms apart from severe pain like nausea, dizziness, visual disturbances and heightened sensitivity to sound, light and touch. But this first-of-its-kind migraine stimulator only replicated a few migraine symptoms like – auras, disorientation, extremely bright lights, floating spots and tunnel vision.

The video shows friends and relatives of migraine sufferers putting on a VR headset and trying to navigate their surroundings while experiencing the virtually simulated disorienting symptoms of a migraine attack. The designers of this project say that their aim is to spread awareness about the seriousness of this health condition.
