Transgender man gives birth to girl months after beginning sex change treatment

A transgender teenager gave birth to a healthy baby girl despite the fact that he was undergoing hormone treatment to become a man. The 19-year-old found that he was pregnant after two months of having started gender reassignment treatment. Henry Steinn had already started living as a man when he discovered that he was pregnant with his boyfriend Thorir Leo Petursson.

The couple, who have been together since February last year, live in a small resident community in northern Iceland. The baby was born via a caesarean section and is being breastfed by Steinn. He plans to continue with the sex change procedure as soon as the child is weaned. He shares that during pregnancy, he usually borrowed his boyfriend’s clothes as they were bigger and more comfortable than maternity wear.
