CHENNAI: Voluntary Health Services (VHS) organised Third Meena Subramaniam Oration on “Cutting Edge of Interventional Cardiology and Cost Cutting in Cardiac services” on Friday as part of 10th Anniversary of the VHS Institute of Cardio Vascular Sciences and Research. Oration was delivered by Dr Gopal Murugan, Director, Cardiac Services and Special Interventional Cardiologist, SIMS.
Mentioning the need of awareness among the people about the latest techniques available for the cardiac services, Dr Gopal Murugan said that it is high time to device methods to make the treatment affordable for the less privileged sections of the society. “The burden of cardiovascular diseases is increasing at an alarming rate also increasing the burden of the disease in the state. Government and private hospitals should sensitise people about various services and treatment facilities available and their affordability,” said Dr Gopal Murugan.
