KOZHIKODE: As many as 2,569 cases of viral fever were reported in the district on Thursday, including 102 suspected and 20 confirmed cases of dengue, according to the district medical office. A total of 265 ADD (acute diarrhoeal disease) cases also occurred. More than 5,000 patients came to the outpatient wings of various health institutions. The dengue cases were reported from Beypore, Kolathara, Puthiyappa, Kuthiravattam, Kakkur, Thalakulathur, Kakkodi, Chelannur, Kolathur, Atholi and Ulliyeri.
The household visit and cleanliness drive by health squad have been continuing in various wards and public spots. Besides, health workers, ward councillors, ASHA, Ankanwadi workers, club members, NSS, NCC, Scouts and Guides students are also part of the cleanliness drive.
