Ernakulam: Sachin Tendulkar agrees to provide Rs 25 lakh for X-ray unit

Kochi: Ace cricketer and Rajya Sabha member Sachin Tendulkar has agreed to provide Rs 25 lakh from MP’s funds to Ernakulam Government General Hospital to set up a digital X-ray unit, thanks to a memorandum of Hibi Eden MLA. In the letter submitted to the Mumbai suburban district collector, Tendulkar has urged to scrutinise the proposal and to issue technical, financial and administrative sanctions within 75 days.

Ernakulam district collector received a copy of the letter, which says the plan should be approved if it complies with the guidelines. The digital X-ray unit will help the hospital provide better care to financially deprived patients, said Mr Eden.
