Chennai: Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) inaugurated Chennai's first Yoga Lab on Thursday to provides various facilities and infrastructure along with yoga instructors for daily yoga practice. Inaugurated by the directorate of medical education Dr Edwin Joe, all the students, faculties and health workers at the hospital can utilize the lab for yoga practice.
“Yoga instructors from Government Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College shall be employed to teach yoga on a 2- shifts basis. A monthly session will be provided for the interested candidates. Patients can also be provided this facility through the hospital if required,” says Dr P Vasanth-amani, dean KMC.A special CD was released as a yoga guide and a special session on ‘Yoga- as a lifestyle’ was also conducted. Students of Government Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College demonstrated yoga asanas.
