Colours welcome kids at Thrissur hospital

The newly-designed ward will be inaugurated at a function to be held at the St Thomas block at 2.30 p.m. on December 6.

Thrissur: The Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute has painted its new paediatric ward on the basis of a concept called ‘colour therapy.’ The paintings of plants and creatures done by noted writer and painter Gayathri in the spread over 12,000 feet create a jovial ambience for the kids being treated there, said hospital authorities.

“It has been proved scientifically that through ‘colour therapy’ the physical and mental illnesses of children could be reduced and research on this is going on,” said Fr. Francis Pallikkunathu, director of the medical college. The newly-designed ward will be inaugurated at a function to be held at the St Thomas block at 2.30 p.m. on December 6. Archbishop Andrews Thazath, literary critic M.K. Sanu and writer C. Radhakrishnan among others will attend the inaugural event.
