Karnataka: Eye screening for children
Bengaluru: The Narayana Nethralaya program, the Karnataka Internet Assisted Diagnosis of Retinopathy of Prematurity (KIDROP) which has been providing tele-ROP service since 2007 with the Government’s help, has now been commissioned by the state government to utilize this screening in all the Government hospitals enlisted across the State.
“We will be conducting screening tests across the State covering premature babies or infants in the neonatal ICUs in all district level and government hospitals which are not attached to medical colleges,” says Dr K Bhujang Shetty, Chairman of Narayana Nethralaya.
He adds that some thirty district level hospitals would be covered, including KG General Hospital, Indira Gandhi Institute of Child health and Jayanagar hospital.
