Turn your wine bottle into a glass
Regular wine drinkers and enthusiasts have often wondered if they could have a glass of the drink, which could refill itself constantly. Well, you can now, at least in a way, with an accessory named Guzzle Buddy.
Shaped like a goblet that you can screw straight into the bottle, the boroscilicate glass allows you to cut out tedious jobs like actually pouring the wine out. What’s interesting is that the Guzzle Buddy is a case of real life being inspired by the reel life.
A similar device was featured in Cougar Town, a sitcom, in 2014. It was shown to be part of a spoof shopping channel sketch, and Courtney Cox, the lead of Cougar Town was shown to be suffering from ‘wine wrist,’ which she develops from tipping a heavy bottle.
Enters Guzzle Buddy, to ease her woes. In a comment to Decanter, Randy Rothfus, sales manager for Guzzle Buddy said that they went on a hunt to find the contraption after having watched the episode. However, since they could not find it, they decided to make it instead.
The company is retailing Guzzle Buddy for $14.49 in the US, with the taglines, “Pouring is boring” and “Plug it and Chug it”.
