Chakum Chukum
It's the most popular street food in Kolkata and Chakum Chukum, as the name suggests, is all about the gleeful chomp of a delicious and mouthful of kaati roll. The owners, a young couple Arpita Sinha and Sujoy Das opened a small cubby hole for rolls two years ago. They then concentrated on giving the innumerable people a taste of “Calcutta on a roll.”

The mutton rolls are great, so is the double egg one. With a few odd tables, this is a place where you could order and chomp at it in your car, take away or just stand under the shade of the few trees BBMP has left. Chicken, mutton, mutton shaami, mutton kidney, mutton liver, chicken shaami, all come in plain or with a single or double egg, single or double meat filling! Hot, crisp with that delightfully fluffy parantha, a hint of mint chutney, small eaters are more than satisfied with just one.

For vegetarians, there is paneer, palak paneer, mixed veg, aloo, aloo paneer all with double and single filling choices. If you're not a mint fan, ask for ketchup or mayonnaise. There is also something for the health conscious — An egg white roll and a wheat roll.

There is also a curry with lachcha parantha. The pudina chutney for the rolls is delicious and you can ask them to add extra spice and onions to the mixture.

Nizam RollNizam Roll

Suhail Ahmed founded Nizam’s around 20 years ago. The place has since then been the go-to place for not only rolls, but street food too! The roll which consists of a stuffing in a chapati, is best had when piping hot! As the name suggests, the Chicken Egg roll consists of golden brown marinated chicken with a mixture of egg and some spicy onions that is rolled rightly and sealed at the edges.

Vegetarians need not feel left out, because the paneer and aloo rolls are also well cooked! While the eatery is small and occupies a couple of tables, it also has an outdoor seating arrangement as well, is well lit and is a nice change.

For those trying to go healthy, there are also wheat rolls available. Must haves: Chicken Egg roll, Double Mutton roll, Paneer Egg roll

Eat to your heart’s content from 20 live food counters at this upscale dhaba that’s always buzzing, vibrant and zesty. We were bowled over by the options on offer – chaats, parathas, hot dogs, biryanis and mouth-watering kaati rolls. Amar Singh who started this food and cultural hub recently is a passionate foodie and promises to leave you satiated. The rolls are available at the Nawab's counter and are totally droolworthy and wholesome.

Must-haves: There are regular rolls like the egg rolls, chicken rolls, kadai chicken roll, Patiala dragon, and peri peri chicken rolls and vegetarian rolls include Veg roll, paneer roll, Shahi paneer roll and cheesy creamy veg rolls. We liked their Nawab special which is a large sized chicken roll from the special jumbo rolls section. It is delicious in every bite and the chicken chunks are succulent and yummy blended with the goodness of mayonnaise, mint chutney and onions. The rolls are also available in wheat for those watching out their weight.

Started by Dr Yadu Nandan in the year 2011, this Bengaluru-based roll joint aims to satiate the gourmand in you — without pinching your pocket or leaving you with messy hands! But, while the neat packaging, prompt delivery and the sizable portions are the pluses; nothing beats the right amount of tangy-ness and spice that goes into the making of every roll on the menu!

From Indiranagar and Cunningham Road to Marathahalli and BTM Layout, these outlets are spread across some of the most popular spots in the city. While the eat out started as a one-shop-stop for all kinds of rolls, the momos too are quite gaining traction among the food lovers in town.

Must-haves: Chicken Tikka, Kathi Kebab rolls for meat lovers; Tawa Paneer and the Chilli Paneer rolls for the vegetarians. If you're up for some really spicy stuff, Chicken spicy roll and Chicken Pepper Rolls are what you must choose.
