1 cup dal
2 cups of rice
½ tsp mustard
1 onions (finely chopped)
5 curry leaves
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp tamarind pulp
Five beans, one carrot and a few pea pods.
Add dal and rice in a pressure cooker, along with chopped-up carrots, peas and beans. Keep aside.
In a kadai, add oil and seasoning. Add mustard and allow it to splutter. Then add chopped onion.
Add Bengal gram dal, cumin seeds, a few curry leaves, pepper, garam masala, coriander, chilli powder, a little tamarind extract and tomato
Add the rice and dal from the pressure cooker into a kadai. Add boiled water as required. Add grated copra and boil. Serve with a dollop of ghee and papad.
